This policy explains information handling for the DuoCam iPhone app and this website. For privacy questions or requests about your rights, contact layseallone@hotmail.com.
It describes the current product. The app does not require an account, include advertising, or provide a feature that uploads your captures to our servers. RevenueCat supports Pro purchases and subscription reporting.
02Captures and on-device processing
Camera frames, microphone audio, image composition and video encoding are processed on your device. When you capture, photos, videos, thumbnails and a library index are saved in the app’s local storage. The index includes a random capture identifier, filenames, capture date and media type.
Framing, exposure, timer and other preferences are stored on your device. The level uses device motion data to determine orientation; the app does not send that data to us. Custom watermark and teleprompter text are also kept on the device. The current version does not request contacts or cross-app tracking permission.
You can review and share captures. When you choose to share with another app or service, that recipient handles the selected content under its own policies.
03Permissions and their purposes
- Camera: for front and rear previews, photos and video. Capturing is unavailable when access is denied.
- Microphone: for recording video with sound. You can turn sound off. If access is denied, microphone audio is not recorded.
- Add to Photos: for saving a separate copy of new captures to the system photo library. The app requests add-only access and does not need to read your entire existing photo library. If you decline, captures can still be kept in the app and exported through the system share sheet.
- Location (optional): Save Photo Location is off by default. Enabling it requests location access while using the app. When authorized, device coordinates and available altitude are written into new photo GPS metadata and the location of photos saved to Photos. We do not upload them to our servers or RevenueCat. Disabling or denying access does not prevent capture. Turning this option off does not remove existing geotags; recipients of shared photos may read them.
You can change permissions in iOS Settings. A system permission does not give us permission to use your photos for advertising, model training or unrelated purposes.
04Retention, deletion and backups
Captures remain in the app until you delete them or delete the app and its data. Confirming deletion in a capture’s preview removes that local capture and thumbnail and updates the library index. Copies already saved to Photos, exported or shared are not deleted by this action.
iOS device backups, iCloud Backup and iCloud Photos may retain or sync copies according to your Apple settings. These are controlled by Apple and your settings; the app does not separately upload media to our servers. Restoring a backup may restore older data. Offloading an app can retain its data, unlike deleting it; follow the options shown by iOS.
05Pro purchases and RevenueCat
Apple processes payments. We use RevenueCat to validate and restore purchases, manage Pro access and view subscription reports. It processes a randomly generated app user identifier, product and transaction records, subscription status, and device type, system and app version, locale, last-seen time and network information such as IP address needed to provide the service. The app may contact this service on launch and when checking access, even if you have not purchased Pro. We do not send RevenueCat your photos, videos, microphone recordings, name, email, photo location or advertising identifier, and we do not receive payment card details.
Purchase and associated service records may be processed in the United States and outside your region and retained as needed to provide subscriptions and meet applicable obligations. Deleting the app does not automatically delete Apple or RevenueCat transaction records. Contact us above for questions or data rights requests. See the RevenueCat Privacy Policy. Subscriptions and billing can also be managed through your Apple account.
06Website visits and Cloudflare
Cloudflare hosts and delivers this website. To serve pages, maintain reliability and prevent abuse, Cloudflare may process technical request information such as your IP address, requested path, request time, browser and device information. Its global network may process that information outside your country. See the Cloudflare Privacy Policy for its practices.
We have not added advertising, analytics scripts, third-party fonts or marketing trackers to this website, and it does not receive your camera captures. Language switching uses ordinary page links, without language-preference cookies or local storage. Hosting services may still process necessary technical information for their security features.
07Information you send to support
If you contact layseallone@hotmail.com, we receive the email address, message and attachments you choose to send. We use them to reply, troubleshoot, respond to rights requests and meet necessary legal obligations. Please avoid sending unrelated sensitive information. Your email provider and ours also process these communications.
We retain support correspondence only as long as reasonably needed to resolve the request and meet applicable obligations. You can ask us to delete information that is no longer needed; we will explain any legally required retention. Retention of website request data depends on the Cloudflare services used and their applicable policies.
08Use, sharing and your choices
Where applicable law requires a legal basis, we rely on providing requested services, consent for optional processing, legitimate interests in securing the website and replying to inquiries, or compliance with legal obligations, as appropriate. You can withdraw consent where processing relies on it, without affecting earlier lawful processing.
We do not sell personal information or disclose it to advertisers for cross-service behavioral advertising. Relevant providers or recipients are involved only as needed for purchase and subscription services, hosting or email support, where legally required, or when you choose to share.
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, receive a copy, correct or delete information, restrict or object to processing, obtain portability, or complain to a regulator. Contact us to make a request. We respond under applicable law and verify identity only when necessary. We cannot remotely access or delete captures held only on your device; you can manage them directly there.
09Children, security and changes
DuoCam is a general-purpose camera and is not designed to collect personal information from children. Minors should obtain a guardian’s consent where required by law. If you believe a child has sent us personal information that should not have been provided, contact layseallone@hotmail.com.
We use measures appropriate to the information we handle, but no storage or transmission can be guaranteed completely secure. Protect access to your device and back up important captures.
If our practices change, we will update the date on this page and provide additional notice or seek consent where required. English and Chinese versions are intended to convey the same meaning and do not reduce rights provided by applicable law.
